Die Autoren kommen u.a. zu dem Ergebnis, dass erst die dauerhafte Etablierung demokratischer Bildungsstrukturen, die gleichermaßen aus staatlich unterstützten Top-down- und zivilgesellschaftlich fundierten Bottom-up-Prozessen erwachsen müssen, auf längere Sicht erwarten lassen, dass sich die Leitideen einer nachhaltigen Entwicklung im Handeln von Regierungen und Bürgern widerspiegeln.
